AngloGold Ashanti Tanzania is seeking a qualified and experienced Tools & Parts Coordinator to support the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Field Services team in Geita. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating tools, spare parts, and maintenance resources to ensure planned maintenance and breakdown activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering requirements and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Identify and manage workplace hazards to promote a safe working environment.
- Maintain and update the tools register for all workshop and field service equipment.
- Conduct quarterly tool audits and submit reports to the Senior Supervisor and Superintendent.
- Identify, source, and order correct spare parts using the SIS system in accordance with work packages.
- Monitor parts consumption and usage trends to support inventory control and reordering processes.
- Prepare and coordinate the availability of parts and tools required for planned maintenance services and equipment breakdowns.
- Raise work orders within the maintenance management system and coordinate activities with maintenance planners.
- Optimize the utilization of spare parts and materials managed under Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) contracts with suppliers such as MANTRAC and SANDVIK.
- Ensure critical tools and equipment are available and maintained in good working condition.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions on the correct use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Provide technical advice and support regarding tool selection and usage.
- Prepare and manage tools and equipment budgets based on audit findings and operational requirements.
- Support maintenance teams in achieving engineering and operational targets.
- Maintain accurate records of tools, spare parts, and maintenance resources.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and statutory regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within maintenance and field service operations.
Qualifications
- VETA Grade Test Level I–III in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or a related trade.
- Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) in the mining industry.
- Practical experience with mining equipment maintenance and field service operations.
- Proficiency in using SIS and OK Information Manual systems.
- Knowledge and experience in tools control software and inventory management systems.
- Strong mechanical and auto-electrical skills.
- Competence in operating and maintaining Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance systems.
- Valid driving competence and ability to operate vehicles safely.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when assigned responsibilities.
