Heritage Insurance is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated Finance Officer to join its team in Mwanza. The company is looking for a competent professional who will support financial operations at the CSP level by ensuring proper handling of company funds, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with finance procedures and standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling cash receipting, banking activities, receipt reconciliation, customer transaction verification, and maintaining effective communication with customers, intermediaries, and the head office regarding financial transactions and discrepancies.

Job Purpose

• Ensure proper handling of company funds at the CSP level
• Maintain adherence to finance guidelines and acceptable financial standards
• Handle cash receipting, daily banking, and reconciliation of online receipts between online platforms and the company’s core system

Responsibilities

• Approve online receipts from customers who transact through online platforms
• Conduct daily Smart Policy receipt reconciliation with bank deposits
• Prepare reconciliation reports including Agent Register reports
• Collect remittance advice and deposit slips from customers and business partners
• Obtain breakdowns for deposits made into banks
• Issue receipts in the company’s core system after confirming deposits, cash collections, or incoming transfers
• Communicate discrepancies between deposited funds and expected amounts to intermediaries, customers, and the head office
• Deposit daily cash and cheque collections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to adapt and embrace change
