St. Camillus Hospital
St. Camillus Hospital
St. Camillus Hospital is a 120-bed regional-level healthcare facility located in the Mwangaza area of Dodoma City, Tanzania. The hospital is officially registered under the Tanzania Private Hospital Advisory Board (PHAB) with registration number 123583-7 and is committed to providing quality and accessible healthcare services to patients in Dodoma and surrounding regions. The hospital derives its name from St. Camillus de Lellis, a Catholic priest recognized for his dedication to caring for the sick and who was beatified by Pope Benedict XIV in Rome in 1742 in recognition of his humanitarian service. St. Camillus Hospital was established as an expansion of the former St. Camillus Specialized Medical and Dental Clinic, a healthcare facility owned by a company registered with BRELA under registration number 113441 on December 1, 2014. The establishment of the hospital was influenced by Tanzania’s decision to relocate government operations to Dodoma in 2015, which led to an increase in the city’s population due to the movement of government employees and their families. This created a growing need for reliable and advanced healthcare services. St. Camillus Hospital was therefore developed to complement existing public and private healthcare facilities by providing comprehensive medical services and helping meet the rising demand for quality healthcare in Dodoma and nearby regions.
