Technical Manager
Benson & Company – Arusha, Tanzania
Benson & Company is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Technical Manager to join its growing operations team in Arusha. The role is responsible for overseeing technical service operations, coordinating field technicians and installers, and ensuring the efficient execution of installation, maintenance, and repair activities while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational performance, managing technical resources, monitoring spare parts utilization, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills, as well as technical knowledge in engineering, electronics, or related service industries.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate technical teams, service technicians, and installers.
- Plan, assign, and monitor technical jobs from initiation through completion.
- Track service requests and ensure timely execution of installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor spare parts inventory, availability, and utilization.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of spare parts when necessary.
- Ensure all technical work is completed according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain high levels of service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor technician performance and provide guidance to improve productivity.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and operational guidelines.
- Coordinate schedules and workloads for technical teams to optimize resource utilization.
- Prepare service reports, job status updates, and operational performance records.
- Identify operational challenges and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Support customer issue resolution and ensure prompt response to technical concerns.
- Collaborate with management to improve service delivery processes and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, spare parts usage, and technical activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical service management, coordination, or supervision.
- Proven experience managing technical teams, service technicians, and installers.
- Knowledge of consumer electronics, commercial kitchen equipment, power solutions, or related technical products.
- Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and service tracking systems.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to quality.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
