andBeyond Travel is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the effective management and daily operations of Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge in Serengeti. The position involves coordinating lodge departments, supporting staff development, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring guests receive a high-quality and personalised experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Management and the Grumeti team to keep lodge operations running smoothly. The role also includes guest relations, food and beverage oversight, staff activities, conservation initiatives, administration, sustainability, and maintaining the company’s service standards.

The Operations Manager will support Senior Management in running Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge while ensuring that andBeyond standards are consistently maintained. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting Senior Management in the effective management and daily running of Grumeti Serengeti River Lodge.
- Assisting with staff training, development, and mentorship.
- Working closely with the Grumeti team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Placing daily operational orders on time and within budget, while delegating tasks where appropriate.
- Managing, implementing, and updating lodge FBC to-do lists.
- Ensuring the andBeyond Golden Thread and Brand Standards are consistently reflected throughout lodge operations.
- Maintaining the lodge styling guide and documenting styling updates.
- Working with the Hospitality Training team to ensure clear communication of styling requirements.
- Maintaining lodge administrative functions and monitoring beverage control.
- Ensuring guest information and requests are properly shared among relevant teams.
- Checking guests in and out of the lodge.
- Assisting with guest-room checks and ensuring guest areas remain clean and well presented.
- Hosting and interacting with guests every day and communicating feedback when necessary.
- Ensuring chefs are informed about guests' dietary requirements and special occasions.
- Assisting with uniform orders and ensuring staff wear the correct uniforms.
- Overseeing Food and Beverage operations and ensuring they meet company standards.
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and professional presentation.
- Welcoming and treating guests and colleagues with friendliness and consideration.
- Maintaining effective communication with staff and other departments.
- Managing daily guest itineraries and activities while ensuring personalised guest experiences.
- Attending management meetings.
- Leading the Green Team and supporting conservation initiatives at Grumeti.
- Keeping the region informed about stories and developments from Grumeti.
- Assisting with social media and public relations communication.
- Managing Staff Delight activities, including &Beyond Life activities and staff swaps.
- Maintaining flexibility in working hours according to lodge requirements.
- Monitoring day-sheet information, including dietary and medical requirements, room configurations, and pre-booked activities.
- Assisting with lodge forecasts and other office administration.
- Supporting sustainability by reducing waste and taking proper care of company property.
- Going the extra mile to support guests and staff.
- Responding positively and flexibly to unexpected guest requests.
- Connecting with guests daily to ensure they are satisfied and receive a personalised experience.
- Maintaining a motivated, friendly, and proactive approach to lodge operations.
- Upholding andBeyond standards throughout the lodge.
- Communicating regularly and effectively with staff and other departments.
Qualifications Required
Applicants should have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
- 3–4 years of relevant hospitality experience.
- Good computer literacy.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
