Sales Manager – Camps at Serena Hotels

Serena Hotels is seeking a Sales Manager – Camps to drive business growth, client acquisition, occupancy, and revenue across its luxury tented camps and safari properties in Tanzania. The role focuses on expanding the company’s commercial presence by developing strong relationships with tour operators, travel agencies, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), corporate clients, and international travel planners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, negotiating contracts, monitoring the sales pipeline, and identifying new business opportunities within the tourism and hospitality industry. This position is particularly suited to candidates with strong experience in safari tourism, travel trade contracting, and luxury camp sales.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial sales strategies for Serena’s camps and safari properties.

  

• Drive occupancy and revenue growth across luxury safari camps.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  

• Build and maintain relationships with local and international tour operators.

• Develop partnerships with travel agencies and Destination Management Companies (DMCs).

  

• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients.

• Manage key accounts and strengthen long-term commercial partnerships.

  

• Conduct sales presentations for prospective and existing clients.

• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts.

• Participate in travel trade shows, exhibitions, and tourism expos.

• Expand Serena Hotels’ market presence and client network.

• Monitor sales leads and business opportunities.

• Manage and track the sales pipeline.

• Analyse tourism and hospitality industry trends.

• Monitor competitor activities and market developments.

• Prepare accurate revenue forecasts for regional leadership.

• Identify opportunities to increase business from international travel markets.

• Support effective contract negotiation and deal closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

• Proven experience in hospitality sales.

• Experience in travel trade contracting.

• Proven commercial business development experience.

• Experience in safari or luxury camp tourism in Tanzania.

• Strong understanding of the East African safari circuit.

• Knowledge of international tour operator networks.

• Understanding of luxury safari camp operations.

• Strong negotiation and contract-closing skills.

• Excellent account management and business development capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Ability to conduct sales forecasting and market analysis.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
