Social Media Manager

Betway Tanzania is seeking an experienced and strategic Social Media Manager to lead the brand’s social media presence and digital engagement initiatives across the Tanzania market. The role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies that drive audience growth, strengthen brand visibility, increase engagement, and support business objectives through innovative and culturally relevant content.

The successful candidate will oversee content planning and execution, community management, influencer partnerships, sponsorship activations, reactive marketing, and performance monitoring across multiple digital platforms. This senior-level position requires a deep understanding of digital culture, audience behavior, content trends, and real-time engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously optimize social media strategies for the Tanzania market.
  • Manage the brand’s presence across Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Define platform-specific strategies, including content formats, audience targeting, posting schedules, and brand voice.
  • Promote and champion a social-first marketing culture within the organization.
  • Manage the full social media content calendar, including planned campaigns, seasonal campaigns, and reactive content.
  • Ensure social media activities align with overall business and marketing objectives.
  • Maintain an effective balance between planned content and real-time trending content.
  • Brief, coordinate, and oversee content production activities.
  • Ensure quality control and consistency across all published content.
  • Collaborate with creative teams, agencies, content creators, and production partners.
  • Develop and manage short-form videos, graphics, stories, carousels, user-generated content, and live event coverage.
  • Ensure all content complies with Tanzanian regulations, responsible gaming requirements, and brand guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fans, influencers, and media stakeholders.
  • Monitor audience sentiment, conversations, and emerging trends through social listening activities.
  • Provide real-time insights and recommendations to marketing and leadership teams.
  • Manage customer complaints and sensitive issues professionally, following escalation procedures when required.
  • Identify opportunities to drive audience participation and community engagement initiatives.
  • Develop social-first activation plans for major campaigns, sponsorships, and brand initiatives.
  • Lead social media coverage for sporting events, match days, brand activations, and live experiences.
  • Coordinate influencer marketing campaigns and partnerships with local creators and agencies.
  • Leverage local trends, sporting moments, and cultural conversations to increase engagement and brand relevance.
  • Monitor campaign performance and prepare analytical reports to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for a major brand or organization.
  • Experience in sports, media, entertainment, betting, gaming, or related industries is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience managing content calendars from planning through reporting.
  • Experience working with creative agencies, content creators, and production partners.
  • Experience managing sponsorship activation campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media performance measurement and reporting.
  • Expertise in social media strategy development and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of audience engagement, community management, and social listening.
  • Excellent copywriting and creative storytelling abilities.
  • Experience managing short-form video content and multimedia production.
  • Knowledge of influencer marketing strategies and campaign execution.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools, content scheduling platforms, and social media management software.
  • Experience using analytics and reporting tools to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
