East African Breweries PLC (EABL), part of Diageo, is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Key Account Manager based in Arusha, Tanzania. The role focuses on managing and growing key business channels across both off-trade and on-trade environments, including supermarkets, convenience stores, petro-marts, hotels, clubs, duty-free outlets, and style bars. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering commercial growth, strengthening customer relationships, and driving brand visibility and execution excellence.
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing Joint Business Plans (JUCPs) with key accounts to achieve agreed sales, profitability, and brand growth objectives. The role also supports strategic channel development, trade activations, and implementation of commercial standards that enhance product distribution, visibility, and customer engagement across the market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business plans with key accounts using agreed performance indicators
- Drive growth in Net Sales Value (NSV), HLS, and EUs across assigned channels
- Increase efficiency within the route-to-market value chain
- Drive both product push and consumer pull strategies across supermarkets and retail channels
- Develop and execute strong off-trade business plans aligned with commercial objectives
- Support implementation of total alcohol and one-portfolio commercial strategies
- Identify emerging consumer trends and market opportunities within off-trade channels
- Develop account-specific activity plans and retail activation programs
- Implement innovative promotional and retail activities to support brand growth
- Develop CDOS plans and align brand opportunities with customer activities
- Support integrated portfolio growth across beer and spirits categories
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer partners and stakeholders
- Collaborate with customers to implement activities aligned with business growth drivers
- Ensure high standards of execution for EABL brands across trade outlets
- Drive excellence in visibility, distribution, promotions, pricing, persuasion, and public relations
- Implement QDVP4 standards across on-trade and off-trade channels
- Support capability-building and advocacy initiatives within trade channels
- Act as a key liaison between commercial and marketing teams for trade activities
- Ensure all commercial and trade activities align with brand objectives and growth targets
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant commercial or sales experience
- At least two (2) years of experience as an Area Business Partner, Customer Relationship Representative, or similar role
- Strong understanding of key account management and trade marketing principles
- Experience managing both on-trade and off-trade business channels
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Good analytical and strategic planning abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and commercial priorities effectively
- Experience in FMCG, beverage, or retail industry environments is an added advantage
- Ability to identify market opportunities and develop growth strategies
- Results-oriented with strong execution and performance management skills
