AXIAN Digibank & Fintech is inviting applications from highly experienced and visionary professionals for the position of Head of Growth based in Dar es Salaam. The organization is seeking a strategic leader capable of driving customer acquisition, engagement, retention, revenue growth, and market expansion initiatives across multiple fintech markets within the AXIAN Group.

The Head of Growth will be responsible for leading and executing the Group Growth Strategy, overseeing customer lifecycle management, optimizing digital performance, strengthening distribution channels, and ensuring sustainable commercial growth across fintech operations. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership teams, cross-functional departments, and external partners to drive innovation, customer value, and long-term business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Group Growth Strategy across all AXIAN Fintech markets
  • Lead initiatives focused on customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth
  • Ensure alignment of growth initiatives with overall business objectives
  • Define and govern the Group Customer Value Management (CVM) framework
  • Manage the entire customer lifecycle including activation, transaction conversion, engagement, cross-selling, reactivation, loyalty, and retention programs
  • Drive improvements in key digital performance indicators such as mobile application downloads, onboarding completion, D7 retention, D30 retention, and Monthly Active Users (MAU)
  • Monitor and optimize digital customer journeys to improve conversion and engagement
  • Review and approve growth campaign budgets and assess channel mix effectiveness
  • Evaluate incentive structures and analyze projected KPI performance and business impact
  • Ensure efficient utilization of marketing and growth investments
  • Define customer experience standards across all markets
  • Develop and oversee Net Promoter Score (NPS) frameworks and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) measurement systems
  • Continuously improve service quality across digital channels, assisted service channels, and customer support touchpoints
  • Set and monitor customer acquisition cost ceilings, revenue per user targets, and growth-function EBITDA contribution
  • Develop strategies to strengthen and expand distribution channels
  • Identify and onboard suitable channel partners
  • Increase customer acquisition through distribution networks
  • Enhance channel partner engagement and revenue generation
  • Support profitable and sustainable business growth across fintech operations

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA
  • Minimum of 12–15 years of significant experience in the fintech industry
  • Extensive experience in growth, sales, distribution, customer lifecycle management, and business expansion
  • At least 6–8 years of experience leading sales and distribution functions within fintech organizations
  • Proven experience managing Customer Base Management (CBM/CVM) teams
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a senior executive leadership role
  • Strong track record of delivering business growth and commercial results
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Experience building strong relationships across departments and external partners
  • Pan-African and multicultural working experience is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of growth strategy development and commercial leadership
  • Experience in business transformation and revenue optimization
  • Strong analytical, customer analytics, and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience in digital funnel optimization and KPI performance management
  • Strong change management and cross-functional collaboration abilities
