Its flagship producing asset is the Cheleken Contract Area in the eastern Caspian Sea, offshore Turkmenistan, where Dragon Oil has held full ownership and operatorship since 2000, maintaining a long-standing partnership with the Government of Turkmenistan. In addition to its operations in Turkmenistan, Dragon Oil has a 100% working interest in producing assets located in Egypt's Gulf of Suez, with operations managed through GUPCO in collaboration with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). The company also participates in the exploration, development, and production of Iraq's onshore Block 9 alongside strategic industry partners.
