Organization: Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) is inviting applications from qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill the position of Artisan II – Mechanical (Diesel-Mechanical Locomotive). The successful candidates will support maintenance and servicing of locomotives, rolling stock, and mechanical equipment.

Position: Artisan II – Mechanical (Diesel-Mechanical Locomotive)
Number of Positions: 10
Application Period: 19 May 2026 – 1 June 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain rolling stock and locomotives
• Maintain workshop machinery and plant equipment
• Service refrigeration and air conditioning facilities
• Service handling equipment and ancillary plants
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Form Four Certificate with one of the following qualifications:

  • Trade Test II
  • Level II or Level III
  • National Vocational Award II (NVA II)
  • Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Locomotive Engineering
  • Or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
