Manager: Transport Operations at DP World is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role is responsible for managing end-to-end transport operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, improving operational performance, maintaining compliance standards, and strengthening client relationships. The position also focuses on profitability, workflow optimisation, reporting accuracy, billing validation, and leadership of transport operations teams.

The successful candidate will oversee daily transport management activities while ensuring smooth coordination between internal departments, clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders. The role requires strong operational leadership to maintain high service standards, improve transport efficiency, and ensure customer satisfaction across all transport operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing daily transport management operations
• Ensuring compliance with SLAs, SOPs, and industry standards
• Coordinating internal teams for smooth operational service delivery
• Optimising transport workflows and operational efficiency
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and subcontractors
• Supporting business development and operational growth initiatives
• Ensuring consistent client satisfaction and service quality
• Acting as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders
• Leading, mentoring, and developing transport operations teams
• Promoting accountability, teamwork, and customer-focused performance
• Preparing accurate and timely operational reports
• Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and governance standards
• Using Transport Management Systems for planning and reporting
• Validating transport rates, billing information, and financial records
• Investigating discrepancies such as incorrect billing or unbilled loads
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving profitability
• Using tracking systems such as Pullsit and C-Track for operational monitoring
• Analysing operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement

Requirements include:

• Matric or high school qualification
• Qualification in Logistics or related field is an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics operations or supervisory/management roles
• Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Experience working with planning software
• Experience using tracking systems such as Pullsit and C-Track
• Cross-border transport operations experience is essential
• Strong decision-making and initiative-taking abilities
