Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) Vacancies 2026 – Multiple Permanent & Internship Opportunities

The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) has announced multiple permanent vacancies and a 24-month Graduate Internship Programme for South African citizens. Opportunities are available across several provinces, including Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and the National Office in Midrand.

The internship programme runs from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2029, while all applications for both permanent posts and internships close on 28 September 2026.

Available Permanent Positions

• Registrar (MR3–MR5) – Johannesburg
• Judge’s Secretary (12 Posts) – Pretoria & Johannesburg
• Senior Court Interpreter – Cape Town
• Security Supervisor – Pretoria
• Security Officer – Durban (KwaZulu-Natal)

These positions are offered in various divisions of the High Court and Provincial Service Centres.

Graduate Internship Programme (24 Months)

OCJ is recruiting unemployed graduates for internships in the following fields:

• Finance
• Asset Management
• Human Resource Management & Development
• Employee Health & Wellness
• Risk Management
• Strategy & Service Delivery
• Institutional Secretariat Services
• Court Administration
• Public Administration
• Office Management
• Business Administration
• Human Resource Management
• LLB (Legal) Internships

Monthly Stipend: R8,174.75

Qualifications Required

Requirements vary depending on the position, but generally include:

• Grade 10, Grade 12, National Diploma, Degree, or LLB depending on the post.
• Relevant work experience for permanent positions.
• Internship applicants must be unemployed South African graduates and must not have participated in a previous internship programme.
