Finance Manager / Head of Finance Department

Williamson Diamonds Limited (WDL) is inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager / Head of Finance Department based at the Mwadui Mine in Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to oversee the company’s entire finance function and provide strategic financial direction to one of Tanzania’s leading mining operations.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will lead financial management, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, statutory compliance, governance, risk management, and audit coordination while serving as the principal financial adviser to the Management Team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Lead and manage the Finance Department, providing strategic and operational leadership.
• Advise the General Manager and Management Team on financial performance and commercial decisions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards and company requirements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business planning processes.
• Monitor expenditure, working capital, cash flow, receivables, and payables.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, tax compliance, and submissions to regulatory authorities.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure financial oversight of procurement, contracts, payroll, and expenditure controls.
• Coach, develop, and motivate the Finance team while promoting ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
• NBAA Professional qualifications.
• CPA (T) with NBAA registration under Associate or Fellow category, or the ability to attain registration within 24 months.
• A Master’s Degree or ACCA qualification will be an added advantage.
• At least five years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably in the mining or extractive industry.
• Proven expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cost management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, internal controls, governance, risk management, and audit processes.
• Experience using AccPac, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
• A valid driving licence.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
