Finance Manager

Williamson Diamonds Limited (WDL) is inviting applications for the position of Finance Manager at its Mwadui Mine in Kishapu District, Shinyanga Region. As Tanzania’s only large-scale diamond producer, WDL is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead its Finance Department and provide strategic financial leadership across the organization.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee financial management, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance, treasury, internal controls, audit coordination, and commercial financial planning. This is a senior leadership opportunity for professionals with strong experience in finance management within mining or other large-scale industrial operations.

About the Role

The Finance Manager serves as the Head of the Finance Department and acts as the principal financial adviser to the General Manager and the Management Team. The role combines strategic planning with operational oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective governance, sound risk management, and compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Finance Department while providing strategic financial leadership.
• Advise senior management on financial performance, budgeting, and commercial decisions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, and corporate governance requirements.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cost management processes.
• Monitor expenditure, cash flow, working capital, receivables, and payables.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify financial and operational risks.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Ensure financial compliance across procurement, contracts, payments, and payroll-related transactions.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team while promoting high ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Completion of NBAA Professional qualifications.
• CPA (T) qualification with NBAA registration, or the ability to obtain registration within 24 months.
• A Master’s Degree and ACCA professional training will be an added advantage.
• At least five years of experience in a senior finance position, preferably within the mining or extractive industry.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow management.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, internal controls, governance, risk management, and audit processes.
• Experience using AccPac, Sage, or similar accounting systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
• A valid driving licence.
