EHOD Lake Zone

Vodacom Tanzania is seeking an experienced regional leader for the position of EHOD Lake Zone to drive business performance and strategic execution across the Lake Zone. Based in Mwanza, the role will be responsible for translating Vodacom’s strategic priorities into profitable growth, stronger customer experience, digital adoption, financial inclusion, and operational excellence across the region.

The successful candidate will provide senior leadership across Consumer, M-Pesa, Enterprise, and Technology functions while managing regional financial performance and stakeholder relationships. The position requires extensive leadership experience, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to lead diverse teams across a geographically dispersed region.

Responsibilities

• Own regional P&L performance, including revenue, margin, market share, subscriber growth, CAPEX, and OPEX management.

  

• Translate enterprise strategy into integrated regional plans covering Consumer, M-Pesa, Enterprise, and Technology.

• Establish clear execution priorities and implement performance interventions where required.

  

• Drive customer growth and loyalty through sales and distribution excellence.

• Promote digital adoption and financial inclusion across the region.

  

• Improve service quality and support stronger regional network performance.

• Represent Vodacom Tanzania as a senior regional leader.

  

• Build trusted relationships with government authorities, regulators, businesses, partners, and local communities.

• Lead a high-performing and inclusive regional organisation.

• Ensure effective governance, risk management, safety, and regulatory compliance.

• Promote strong cross-functional collaboration across regional operations.

• Drive change and ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives.

• Develop future-ready capabilities within the regional organisation.

Qualifications

• Recognised Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Telecommunications, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in multifunctional commercial or operational leadership.

• Strong commercial and strategic leadership capabilities.

• Proven experience with P&L accountability.

• Deep knowledge of telecommunications, digital services, financial services, sales and distribution, and Tanzania market dynamics.

• Strong customer-focused approach.

• Data-driven decision-making skills.

• Strong execution and performance-management capabilities.

• Proven stakeholder influence and relationship-management skills.

• Change-leadership experience.

• Matrix-management capability.

• Ability to lead diverse, cross-functional, and geographically dispersed teams.

• Ability to develop future-ready organisational capabilities.

• Postgraduate business or technical qualification is an added advantage.
