Marine Engineer II – 1 Position

The Marine Engineer II will participate in the running, operation and maintenance of vessel propulsion and electrical systems. The position also involves equipment inspection, recording fuel and lubricant consumption, maintaining engineering records and supporting emergency activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Participating in the running, operation and maintenance of propulsion and electrical systems aboard the vessel
• Assisting with the inspection and maintenance of vessel equipment
• Reporting equipment malfunctions and assisting with necessary adjustments or repairs
• Recording fuel consumption and lubricant usage
• Enforcing applicable marine engineering rules and regulations during watchkeeping
• Maintaining the vessel's log book
• Participating in emergency response activities
• Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications Required:

• Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE)
• Class 4 Certificate of Competence (COC)
• A Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering or another related field is an added advantage
