Risk and Compliance Officer at World Vision
World Vision Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the position of Risk and Compliance Officer based in Mwanza. This full-time role supports the organization’s financial services operations by strengthening risk management, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, and internal control systems across regional business centers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, conducting compliance reviews, supporting anti-money laundering initiatives, identifying operational risks, investigating irregularities, and providing staff training to promote a strong culture of compliance and accountability.
Responsibilities

Implement the Compliance Monitoring Plan across business centers within the region.

Monitor compliance with VFT and regulatory policies and procedures.

Report violations of internal policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.

Conduct staff training on bank policies, AML, and legal and regulatory compliance.

Advise management on compliance with operational policies and regulatory requirements, including BOT, FIU, and TRA.

Review operational compliance issues, including data input, reconciliations, approvals, and withdrawals.

Analyze branch reports to detect operational anomalies and potential fraud.

Report confirmed and suspected fraudulent activities.

Monitor fraud recovery progress across business centers.

Support risk identification and update the organizational risk register.

Monitor and report risk incidents.

Conduct testing of internal risk and compliance controls, including security devices.

Serve as the focal person for health and physical security within the regional business center.
Qualifications Required

University degree in Law, Business Management, Banking, or a related field.

Knowledge of compliance software and applications.

Experience working in banking or financial institution operations.

Understanding of enterprise risk management principles.

Knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) and its impact on financial systems.

Strong analytical and investigative skills.
