Information Communication & Technology Officer at World Vision

World Vision Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified and innovative ICT professionals for the position of Information Communication & Technology Officer based in Kigoma. This full-time role supports the organization’s technology infrastructure by providing technical support, maintaining networks, managing ICT assets, and ensuring reliable IT services across offices.

The successful candidate will deliver first-line technical support, configure and maintain computer systems and network infrastructure, support video conferencing and IT projects, strengthen information security, and provide ICT training to users while contributing to World Vision’s humanitarian mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for Level 1 and Level 2 ICT requests via phone, email, remote tools, and ServiceNow.

  • Configure, install, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on client workstations and mobile devices.

  • Develop temporary solutions while permanent fixes are implemented.

  • Monitor network functionality and system availability.

  • Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches, Meraki devices, and LAN infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with Internet Service Providers to ensure SLA compliance and timely outage resolution.

  • Organize and conduct ICT clinics and user knowledge transfer sessions.

  • Support deployment of new and upgraded ICT hardware and software projects.

  • Provide technical support for meetings, including video conferencing services.

  • Ensure user data protection and backup procedures are implemented.

  • Maintain compliance with information security standards and policies.

  • Track ICT performance metrics and service delivery.

  • Manage computer asset inventory and equipment records.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues and their resolutions.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a networking or telecommunications environment.

  • ITIL, CCNA, or MCP certification is preferred.

  • Good knowledge of telecommunications technologies and wireless networks.

  • Understanding of LAN/WAN architecture and network infrastructure.

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and Internet security.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to balance user needs and organizational priorities.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Tanzania (up to 40% travel).

  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
