Tree Implementation and Audit Intern at One Acre Fund

One Acre Fund is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Tree Implementation and Audit Intern in Iringa, Tanzania. The opportunity is suitable for candidates with at least a certificate-level qualification who are interested in agriculture, forestry, environmental studies, field operations, data verification, and auditing.

The intern will support tree implementation activities, conduct field audits, verify program data, and strengthen accountability across field operations. The role involves extensive fieldwork across Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, or Songwe and provides practical experience in data collection, verification, reporting, and operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursery and seedling audits by verifying production numbers and inspecting seedling quality.

  • Audit the distribution of farming inputs, including seeds, tools, and soil.

  • Verify farmer enrollment and payment records through field visits and phone verification.

  • Cross-check seedling distribution records to ensure the correct quantities reach intended farmers.

  • Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

  • Conduct beneficiary verification and carbon credit audits to support accurate reporting for international carbon credit certification.

  • Support day-to-day data entry for farmer enrollment.

  • Assist with seedling distribution logistics.

  • Collect and verify Transportation Management System (TMS) forms.

  • Ensure dispatched quantities match field deliveries.

  • Draft audit reports and provide actionable recommendations to management for operational improvement.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum Certificate-level qualification in any field.

  • Qualification or background in Agriculture, Forestry, or Environmental Studies is an added advantage.

  • Comfortable using computers.

  • Comfortable using professional email.

  • Comfortable using tablets for mobile data collection.
