Purpose of the Position

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, organizing and controlling project activities under the supervision of the General Manager: Technical Training Operations.

The successful candidate will oversee project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, contractors and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Performance Areas

The Project Manager will:

  • Create and define project scopes and objectives while involving all relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop detailed project plans covering resources, timeframes and budgets.

  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management.

  • Monitor project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.

  • Manage project risks and issues and take appropriate corrective measures.

  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors for effective project execution.

  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Generate weekly, quarterly and monthly project reports.

  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.

  • Perform other construction project-related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Building Construction or a related industry.

  • A Project Management Certificate.

  • An Advanced Project Management Certificate will be an added advantage.

  • 5–8 years of experience in Project Management within the construction or related industry.

Who Can Apply

The position is intended for qualified project management and construction professionals with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and between five and eight years of relevant project management experience.

Applicants should have practical experience managing construction projects and coordinating resources, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders. Candidates with formal project management certification will have an advantage.

Non-RSA citizens and Permanent Resident Permit holders are required to attach a copy of their Permanent Residence Permit. Applicants with foreign qualifications must also provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
