Computer Science Teacher

The successful candidate will join the Secondary School team and be responsible for delivering high-quality Computer Science education across different levels of the Cambridge curriculum.

Job Responsibilities

The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Computer Science lessons in accordance with the Cambridge curriculum.

  

• Teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 3, Cambridge IGCSE, and Cambridge International AS & A Level where required.

• Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on students’ academic progress using appropriate assessment strategies.

• Differentiating teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

• Integrating modern educational technology into teaching and learning.

• Participating in extracurricular activities, school meetings, events, and professional development programmes.

• Upholding school policies relating to safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student achievement.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Education with Computer Science, or a related field.

• A recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum, particularly IGCSE Computer Science.

• Excellent knowledge of Computer Science.

• Effective classroom-management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organisational abilities.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Additional qualifications and experience that will be an advantage include:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant field.

• Experience teaching Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science.

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

• Experience in robotics, coding clubs, or STEM enrichment programmes.
