CCTV Operator

Meliá Zanzibar is looking for an experienced CCTV Operator to support security operations at its luxury 5-star resort in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuously monitoring surveillance systems, identifying suspicious activities, and helping maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel property.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates with previous hotel-based CCTV and security experience who can remain attentive during surveillance operations, maintain accurate records, communicate incidents promptly, and work effectively with the wider security team during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems throughout the resort.

• Observe and identify suspicious activities, security threats, or unusual incidents.

  

• Immediately report security concerns and incidents to the Security Supervisor.

• Maintain accurate CCTV surveillance logs and security-event records.

• Document relevant incidents according to hotel security procedures.

• Coordinate with security officers during emergencies and security incidents.

• Conduct routine checks of CCTV cameras and surveillance equipment.

• Report faulty or malfunctioning CCTV equipment to the appropriate supervisor.

• Support the wider security team in maintaining a safe hotel environment.

• Follow established access-control, fire-safety, and incident-reporting procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar CCTV Operator role within a hotel.

• Previous experience in security operations and CCTV monitoring.

• Strong observation and communication skills.

• Knowledge of access-control procedures.

• Knowledge of fire-safety procedures.

• Understanding of security incident reporting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of CCTV and other security systems is an added advantage.

• Good reporting and documentation skills.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy 5-star hotel environment.

• Must be a local resident of Zanzibar.
