Senior Treasury Dealer
This role is responsible for leading treasury trading activities within the bank, with a strong focus on foreign exchange (FX) operations, market analysis, client engagement, and revenue generation. The Senior Treasury Dealer manages a team of dealers and ensures effective execution of treasury sales strategies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and central bank policies.
The position plays a key role in optimizing FX pricing, monitoring market trends, managing customer expectations, and ensuring the bank’s treasury operations remain profitable, compliant, and well-coordinated across branches and clients. It also involves daily trading oversight, reporting, and risk monitoring within the FX desk.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of corporate and retail treasury dealers.
- Develop, prepare, and implement the treasury sales strategy.
- Prepare and submit monthly treasury sales performance reports.
- Analyze foreign exchange market trends and provide actionable insights.
- Manage client expectations related to FX and other treasury-related services.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and central bank regulations.
- Monitor policy changes issued by the Central Bank and implement necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate branch and customer visits for treasury sales engagement.
- Conduct physical visits to existing and prospective corporate clients.
- Implement efficient FX pricing mechanisms to maximize profitability.
- Support achievement of treasury revenue and business targets.
- Develop systems and processes for tracking and monitoring FX business performance.
- Collaborate with product development teams on marketing initiatives and customer acquisition strategies.
Daily Responsibilities
- Prepare daily treasury sales and performance reports.
- Provide customers with daily foreign exchange market updates.
- Monitor FX positions and bank exposure on a daily basis.
- Provide timely FX rate confirmations to branches after deals are executed.
- Monitor utilization of dealing limits within the treasury unit.
- Reconcile daily FX positions for the front office.
- Track and manage customer complaints related to treasury services.
- Conduct direct sales and marketing calls to existing and prospective clients.
- Support execution of daily FX trading and treasury operations activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACI Dealing Certificate is required.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance specialization) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking, or financial markets.
Experience Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in operations (essential).
- At least 3 years of experience in sales or trading (essential).
