Senior Fleet and Transportation Operations Manager

PaveWay Africa Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Fleet and Transportation Operations Manager to lead and oversee fleet management and transportation operations in Tanzania. The role is responsible for developing operational strategies, optimizing fleet performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting business growth within the transportation and logistics sector.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for transportation operations, manage fleet resources efficiently, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness. The position requires extensive experience in logistics management, team leadership, business development, and transportation operations within the Tanzanian market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for fleet and transportation operations to achieve organizational objectives.
• Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling, utilization, maintenance, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise transportation and operations teams to achieve high performance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor key operational performance indicators and implement measures to improve efficiency.
• Manage fleet budgets, cost control initiatives, and resource allocation processes.
• Optimize transportation routes, vehicle utilization, and logistics operations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and execute logistics activities for projects within the extractive and energy sectors.
• Ensure timely and efficient delivery of transportation services to clients and project teams.
• Utilize CRM systems and digital technologies to improve fleet tracking, reporting, and customer management.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present operational reports, performance analyses, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor industry developments, transportation policies, and market trends to support business planning and decision-making.
• Support business development initiatives and contribute to organizational growth strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of senior management experience within the transportation and logistics industry.
• Proven experience in fleet management and transportation operations leadership.
• Demonstrated excellence in strategic planning and business development.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation management, and fleet optimization.
• Experience managing operational budgets and resource allocation.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and standard office productivity software.
• Fluency in both English and Swahili.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Tanzania’s transportation industry, regulatory requirements, and market environment.
