ICT OFFICER II (Application Programmer) at e-Government Authority (eGA)

The e-Government Authority (eGA) is recruiting two ICT Officer II (Application Programmer) positions to support software development, system integration, application maintenance, and digital government solutions. The role focuses on designing, coding, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications across different platforms including web, mobile, and desktop systems.

The selected candidates will participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), working closely with analysts, designers, and technical teams to develop secure and efficient government digital systems.

Main responsibilities include:

• Designing, coding, and debugging software applications
• Developing web, mobile, and desktop-based applications
• Participating in user requirements analysis and prototyping
• Supporting software maintenance and system integration
• Conducting software testing and quality assurance
• Performing software reliability and risk analysis
• Installing and configuring application servers
• Preparing technical and user documentation
• Training and supporting software users
• Troubleshooting software application problems
• Supporting system automation, usability, and performance improvements
• Integrating software with existing systems
• Evaluating new technologies for implementation
• Producing technical specifications and code documentation
• Supporting maintenance of production systems

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in:

  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Information Systems (IS)
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Required technical skills:

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of software requirements analysis and system design
• Working knowledge of:

  • PHP (mandatory)
  • Java (mandatory)
  • C/C++
  • .NET
  • Python

• Knowledge of:

  • HTML5
  • CSS/CSS3
  • JavaScript
  • jQuery
  • jQuery Mobile
  • SAPUI5
  • Photoshop
  • Responsive Web Design

• Practical skills in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/OOD)
• Experience with Java/JEE development environments
• Knowledge of containerization and microservices architecture is an added advantage
