ICT OFFICER GRADE II (Network Management) at e-Government Authority (eGA)

The e-Government Authority (eGA) is recruiting two ICT Officer Grade II (Network Management) positions to support network infrastructure management, security monitoring, and network performance optimization within government ICT systems. The role focuses on maintaining secure and reliable network services while supporting business continuity and digital government operations.

The selected candidates will participate in network design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, security management, and monitoring of network systems and related technologies.

Main responsibilities include:

• Monitoring network performance, capacity, and availability
• Recommending improvements in network technologies and practices
• Supporting network design, installation, and configuration
• Maintaining and repairing network equipment and accessories
• Troubleshooting network security issues
• Implementing network security strategies and standards
• Documenting network problems, solutions, and implementation processes
• Supporting installation of security tools and updates
• Performing network maintenance, backup, and restoration activities
• Monitoring firewall, VPN, SSL, intrusion detection, and prevention systems
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and supporting remediation activities
• Supporting log analysis and network security monitoring
• Ensuring implementation of network security best practices
• Maintaining network security devices for proactive defense and monitoring

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Engineering
  • Or related qualification from a recognized institution

Technical skills and added advantages:

• Knowledge of Service Provider technologies such as:

  • IP/MPLS
  • L2VPN
  • L3 MPLS VPN
  • Traffic Engineering (TE)
  • Quality of Service (QoS)

• Experience with LAN/WAN technologies and routing protocols including:

  • OSPF/ISIS
  • EIGRP
  • BGP
  • IPv6
  • MPLS
  • Multicast
  • High Availability/Redundancy

• Professional ICT certifications such as:

  • CCNA
  • CCNSP
  • HCNA
  • HCNP
  • MCSA
  • MCSE
  • CEH
    are added advantages

• Experience in Telecom Operators or Internet Service Provider Core Network environments is an added advantage
