Full Job Description

Stanbic Bank Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Direct Sales Agent (Mbeya Branch). The bank is seeking energetic and customer-focused individuals capable of driving customer acquisition, promoting banking products and services, and supporting business growth through direct sales and relationship management activities.

The Direct Sales Agent will be responsible for sourcing and onboarding new customers, achieving assigned sales targets, promoting personal banking products, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with branch teams to identify business opportunities, provide product information, and ensure excellent customer service while complying with banking procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Actively source, engage, and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals, and networking
  • Promote and sell the bank’s products and services including accounts, loans, deposits, insurance, and cards
  • Conduct product presentations and explain product features and benefits to customers
  • Address customer inquiries and provide appropriate banking solutions
  • Ensure completion of account opening forms and documentation in compliance with KYC and regulatory requirements
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
  • Provide regular feedback on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to support retention and cross-selling opportunities
  • Represent the bank professionally during all customer interactions
  • Follow up on leads generated to develop business opportunities
  • Conduct planned cold-calling activities targeting potential high-value prospects
  • Identify and follow up on new business opportunities to increase market share
  • Market personal banking products and services to customers
  • Follow up on sales activities to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide additional product information and identify customer concerns where necessary
  • Successfully hand over customer relationships to Personal Bankers, Branch Managers, and Business Development Managers
  • Ensure compliance with all service level agreements and operational procedures
  • Attend to inquiries from clients, Credit teams, or Branch operations
  • Conduct customer needs analysis when opening accounts or providing product advice

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong sales and customer relationship management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets
  • Knowledge of banking products and services is an added advantage
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic bookkeeping and data management knowledge
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Good written communication skills
