Employment Type: Volunteer Contract
Contract Duration: One Year

Tabora Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (TUWASA) is inviting qualified and motivated Tanzanians to apply for the position of Artisan (Plumbers). The successful candidates will support maintenance and monitoring of water distribution systems, leak detection, and reporting activities within TUWASA Headquarters and Zone Offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend to and report all water leakages.
- Identify and report water losses and distribution faults and recommend necessary corrective actions.
- Prepare data and information for periodic reports to the supervisor.
- Attend to and report contamination within the water distribution system caused by customer services or connections.
- Develop individual performance objectives, targets, and standards in consultation with the immediate supervisor as part of performance agreements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) plus Trade Test Grade II, Level II, or NTA Level 5 in any of the following fields:
- Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
- Pump Mechanics
- Motor Vehicle Mechanics
- Welding and Fabrication
- Masonry and Brick Laying
- Electronics
- Domestic or Industrial Electrical Installation
- Any other related qualification from a recognized institution.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and water distribution networks.
- Ability to detect and repair water leakages and faults.
- Good technical and maintenance skills.
- Ability to prepare operational reports and records.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety standards and quality service delivery.
Terms of Employment
- One-year volunteer contract.
- Remuneration will be in accordance with Government Volunteers Guidelines.
General Conditions

- Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged not more than 35 years.
- Must hold a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a government-recognized institution.
- Must have two guarantors who are public servants.
- Must provide a confirmation letter from Local Government Authority.
- Must be willing to volunteer in the assigned area.
- Applicants must not have been convicted of criminal or disciplinary offenses.
- Applicants must demonstrate good conduct and acceptable community behavior.
