Employment Type: Volunteer Contract
Contract Duration: One Year

Tabora Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (TUWASA) is inviting qualified and motivated Tanzanians to apply for the position of Artisan (Mechanical). The successful candidates will support mechanical maintenance and repair activities for water supply systems, equipment, vehicles, and operational machinery at Igombe Pumping Station and Kaliua Zone.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs of plants, machines, equipment, pumps, motor vehicles, and motorcycles.
- Follow up accident reports with Police Officers and complete claim forms where required.
- Prepare lists of materials and spare parts required for garage operations.
- Develop individual performance objectives, targets, and standards in consultation with the immediate supervisor as part of performance agreements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications
- Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) plus Trade Test Grade II, Level II, or NTA Level 5 in any of the following fields:
- Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
- Pump Mechanics
- Motor Vehicle Mechanics
- Welding and Fabrication
- Masonry and Brick Laying
- Electronics
- Domestic or Industrial Electrical Installation
- Any other related qualification from a recognized institution.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair works.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Good technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational efficiency.
Terms of Employment
- One-year volunteer contract.
- Remuneration will be in accordance with Government Volunteers Guidelines.
