Tabora Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (TUWASA) is inviting qualified and motivated Tanzanians to apply for the position of Artisan (Electrical). The successful candidates will support operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water pumping systems and electrical equipment at Igombe Pumping Station and Kaliua Zone.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate water pumps according to agreed schedules and ensure the required quantity of water is pumped to storage tanks.
• Monitor water levels in storage tanks and dams.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance of water pumps, dosing pumps, water filters, and gate valves.
• Monitor electricity availability and maintain records of power failures.
• Ensure chlorine and other chemical dosages are administered according to required standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education and Qualifications

• Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) plus Trade Test Grade II, Level II, or NTA Level 5 in any of the following fields:

  • Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
  • Pump Mechanics
  • Motor Vehicle Mechanics
  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Masonry and Brick Laying
  • Electronics
  • Domestic or Industrial Electrical Installation
  • Any other related qualification from a recognized institution.

Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of electrical maintenance and water pumping systems.
• Ability to operate and maintain pumps and electrical equipment.
• Good technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to monitor and maintain operational records accurately.
• Commitment to workplace safety and operational standards.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

General Conditions

• Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged not more than 35 years.
• Must hold a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree from a government-recognized institution.
• Must have two guarantors who are public servants.
• Must provide a confirmation letter from Local Government Authority.
• Must be willing to volunteer in the assigned area.
• Applicants must not have been convicted of criminal or disciplinary offenses.
• Applicants must demonstrate good conduct and acceptable community behavior.
