Regional Auditor

World Vision is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Auditor to provide independent and objective assurance and consulting services that enhance organizational effectiveness, accountability, and governance. The successful candidate will evaluate risk management systems, internal controls, and governance processes while supporting the organization's mission through risk-based audit engagements and advisory services.

The role involves conducting regional audits, assessing operational and financial risks, documenting audit findings, recommending practical improvements, and monitoring the implementation of corrective actions. The Regional Auditor will work closely with senior leadership, management teams, and stakeholders to strengthen internal controls, promote best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives across assigned country portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in annual audit planning activities.
  • Support the development of risk-based audit plans under the guidance of the Regional Audit Manager.
  • Plan and conduct audits in accordance with International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) standards and Global Assurance and Advisory methodologies.
  • Engage with senior management and leadership teams during audit assignments.
  • Assess business operations, risks, and control environments.
  • Conduct risk-based audits and advisory engagements.
  • Document audit findings accurately, clearly, and in a timely manner.
  • Provide advisory support to management on risk and control matters.
  • Recommend improvements that strengthen internal controls and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and management action plans.
  • Conduct follow-up reviews on previously identified audit findings.
  • Support timely resolution and closure of audit issues.
  • Prepare high-quality audit reports and supporting documentation.
  • Submit draft audit findings at the conclusion of fieldwork assignments.
  • Address audit review comments promptly and professionally.
  • Apply quality assurance procedures and checklists throughout audit engagements.
  • Declare conflicts of interest when required and maintain auditor independence.
  • Participate in internal audit quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving audit effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide capacity-building support to National Office management teams.
  • Deliver training on Risk-Based Auditing, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Control Systems.
  • Support implementation of Global Assurance and Advisory improvement initiatives.
  • Promote audit best practices across assigned country portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Internal Auditing Standards and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Governance Structures and organizational accountability.
  • Knowledge of Internal Control Systems and control assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and Code of Ethics.
  • Proven audit planning, execution, and reporting skills.
  • Experience in risk assessment and advisory services.
  • Ability to evaluate internal controls and conduct compliance reviews.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, research, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate business processes and operational activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial information systems.
  • Experience using audit software packages.
  • Knowledge of Sun Systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
