Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Tanzania is a humanitarian and development organization dedicated to promoting human dignity, social justice, and sustainable development. Through partnerships with local organizations and communities, NCA works to address gender inequality, protect vulnerable populations, and strengthen systems that promote human rights, peace, and community resilience.
NCA Tanzania is seeking a qualified and motivated GBV Program Officer to support the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions in Tanzania. The successful candidate will work closely with implementing partners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality programme delivery, effective documentation, accountability, and adherence to survivor-centered approaches and protection principles.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and tracking of GBV programme activities and work plans.
- Assist in monitoring programme progress against established objectives and targets.
- Ensure timely execution of planned interventions and activities.
- Collect, compile, analyze, and manage programme data.
- Prepare programme reports, records, and documentation.
- Support evidence-based decision-making through data analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate activities with implementing partners and relevant stakeholders.
- Organize meetings and follow up on agreed action points.
- Facilitate effective communication between NCA and partner organizations.
- Provide logistical support for trainings, workshops, field visits, and missions.
- Assist in organizing programme events and capacity-building initiatives.
- Contribute to proposal development and project design processes.
- Support programme documentation, learning, and knowledge management activities.
- Assist in the preparation of donor reports and project-related reports.
- Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical standards throughout programme implementation.
- Support partner organizations in strengthening GBV response and prevention interventions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, or a related Social Science field.
- Minimum of two to four years of relevant experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) programming.
- Experience working with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) or International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs).
- Proven experience in programme implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects and reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of GBV concepts, protection principles, and survivor-centered approaches.
- Knowledge of GBV referral pathways and national GBV frameworks in Tanzania.
- Basic skills in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
- Strong report writing, documentation, and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethical programming principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Strong teamwork, coordination, and collaboration abilities.
- Energetic, proactive, and results-oriented approach to work.
