The organization is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Banking Application Officer to join its team in Dar es Salaam on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing banking applications and IT systems to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of digital financial services.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, computers, network devices, and core applications.
- Manage core banking systems, financial software, and databases.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal system downtime.
- Administer backup systems and disaster recovery solutions.
- Provide technical support to staff on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Log, track, and resolve IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Train staff on IT systems, cybersecurity awareness, and newly introduced applications.
- Liaise with software vendors regarding system updates, support services, and integrations.
- Conduct testing and deployment of new applications and system features.
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Ensure IT systems comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Participate in IT-related projects including digital transformation, automation, and system upgrades.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for their suitability within the institution.
- Coordinate with internal departments to identify and address technology requirements.
- Promote safeguarding standards and ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates with relevant academic background or internship exposure are encouraged to apply.
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, databases such as SQL, and network administration is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), MSSQL, or ITIL will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems and financial applications.
- Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and proactive working attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information professionally.
