Stanbic Bank Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Analyst, Client based in Dar es Salaam. The bank is seeking a highly analytical and customer-focused individual capable of evaluating counter-party credit risks associated with Business Banking lending while supporting sound credit decision-making and sustainable business growth.

The Analyst, Client will be responsible for conducting credit evaluations, preparing credit applications, assessing business proposals, and supporting relationship management teams in developing viable lending solutions within acceptable risk parameters. The successful candidate will work closely with Relationship Managers, Credit teams, and business stakeholders to ensure effective credit risk management and delivery of quality banking solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional credit evaluation services at the customer interface
• Identify credit and risk management requirements during deal negotiation and business proposal assessment
• Conduct credit evaluation interviews to gather sufficient information for risk analysis and business viability assessment
• Decline non-viable deals while collaborating with Relationship Managers and business teams to identify alternative solutions
• Develop quality credit solutions and recommend appropriate credit facilities
• Present and defend credit decisions professionally while maintaining positive client relationships
• Prepare credit facility proposals together with Origination Managers and Relationship Managers
• Prepare acceptable Applications for Facility (AFF) for Credit Decision processes
• Identify, quantify, and evaluate sources of risk relating to profitability and financial viability
• Analyze industry risks and understand contextual threats affecting clients and business proposals
• Evaluate whether business proposals meet acceptable client selection and risk parameters
• Recommend suitable credit facilities, covenants, and lending terms
• Prepare detailed credit applications supported by financial and business justifications
• Work closely with Relationship Managers on new and existing credit applications
• Liaise with the Head of Credit and Credit Evaluation Managers for credits outside delegated authority
• Attend customer meetings involving credit-related discussions and resolutions
• Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and operational efficiency
• Review and coordinate approved sanction letters, documentation execution, and facility drawdowns

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Commerce or related qualification
• ACCA, CPA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Banking and/or Financial Services
• At least 2 years’ experience in Credit-related functions
• Strong understanding of credit risk analysis and lending processes
• Excellent analytical and financial evaluation skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within teams
• Good relationship management and influencing skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
