Stanbic Bank Tanzania is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Manager, Global Markets Product Controller based in Dar es Salaam. The bank is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional capable of supporting accurate financial reporting, reconciliation, and performance analysis within Global Markets and Treasury operations.

The Manager, Global Markets Product Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of income statement and balance sheet reporting for Global Markets and Treasury products while providing insightful financial analysis to support business growth, client solutions, and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with front office, risk, and finance teams to enhance reporting frameworks, strengthen controls, and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and validate daily and periodic Profit and Loss (P&L) and balance sheet reports
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial reporting outputs
  • Perform reconciliations across trading systems, core banking platforms, and general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile currency positions and product balances
  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet movements and provide variance explanations
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies while identifying root causes and sustainable solutions
  • Deliver value-added financial commentary to support trading activities and business strategy
  • Collaborate with front office, risk, and finance teams to provide commercially relevant insights
  • Support new product initiatives through development of reporting frameworks and control processes
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and data quality enhancement initiatives
  • Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and business initiatives
  • Support development of scalable financial reporting and operational processes

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Finance and Accounting or related field
  • CPA or ACCA qualification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in Global Markets, Treasury Product Control, Finance, or Market Risk support environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting practices including risk attribution, fair value, and hedging
  • Experience preparing financial reports and reconciliations
  • Strong financial analysis and accounting control skills
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and provide analytical insights
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and solve complex financial problems
  • Strong data-driven analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Good knowledge of Finance Operations and Global Markets products
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet strict timelines
  • Strong statistical and mathematical analysis abilities
