Full Job Description

Commercial Performance Manager – Reserve & Key Accounts at Diageo is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The role focuses on driving commercial performance for the International Premium Spirits (IPS) and Reserve portfolio by managing distribution targets, sales performance, customer plans, reporting, and investment effectiveness. The position is responsible for ensuring that commercial activities and customer marketing initiatives deliver measurable business growth, strong return on investment, and competitive market advantage.

The successful candidate will work closely with Commercial Operations, Customer Marketing teams, Reserve teams, and leadership teams to monitor performance, generate actionable insights, manage budgets, and improve execution standards across premium spirits portfolios. The role requires strong analytical capability, financial understanding, customer activity management, and leadership skills to support performance improvement and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily tracking of performance management metrics across IPS and Reserve portfolios
  • Monitoring Sales in Trade (SIT) and Distributor Forward Cover (DFC) performance
  • Leading weekly and monthly distribution and performance reporting activities
  • Tracking purchase plans and commercial building blocks
  • Preparing ad hoc reports related to premium spirits performance
  • Translating business insights into corrective commercial actions
  • Supporting weekly and monthly tracking of Reserve Division performance
  • Leading Divisional Leadership Team discussions on performance opportunities and action plans
  • Supporting teams in implementing corrective actions based on operational reports
  • Supervising and managing Joint Up Customer Plans (JUCPs)
  • Conducting impact assessments to measure commercial and brand performance outcomes
  • Sharing JUCP performance insights with Commercial Leadership Teams and relevant stakeholders
  • Coordinating with Customer Marketing teams on activity planning and outlet selection
  • Managing Below the Line (BTL) execution activities and identifying operational gaps
  • Monitoring compliance and ensuring immediate corrective action where required
  • Managing divisional budgets and purchase order processes
  • Optimising commercial spending to protect key business performance indicators
  • Ensuring governance, audit readiness, and proper documentation of commercial activities

Requirements include:

  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar commercial performance role
  • Proven ability to manage performance across multiple business portfolios
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills
  • Return on Investment (ROI) focused mindset
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills, especially in Excel and Business Intelligence tools
  • Strong customer activity management and JUCP tracking abilities
  • Leadership, accountability, and influencing skills
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities
