Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is looking for a qualified Category Buyer to join its procurement team in Morogoro. This full-time opportunity is suitable for procurement and supply chain professionals with experience in purchasing, supplier management, negotiation, and procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily buying activities and related procurement planning using the company system.
• Execute purchasing of non-contracted goods and services in line with procurement policies.
• Use data analytics and procurement reports to identify opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
• Support improvements in contract buying and inventory management.
• Implement approved procurement best practices, standards, policies, processes, tools, and technologies.
• Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders according to business priorities.
• Capture accurate procurement data in the system to support reliable reporting and analysis.
• Communicate with line managers and suppliers to ensure procurement requirements are met.
• Lead supplier performance management for non-contracted vendors.
• Work with line managers to collect supplier performance information and monitor service quality.
• Negotiate purchase orders to achieve the best value in terms of price, conditions, and other requirements.
• Provide guidance and coaching to end users on procurement processes.
• Follow Kilombero Sugar SHERQ policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain operations.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and experience using SAP is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable prices, terms, and conditions.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
