Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately process customer payments through cash, cards, mobile money, and bank transfers.
• Count customer payments carefully and provide the correct change.
• Operate the restaurant's POS system accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and safeguard the assigned cash float.
• Verify opening and closing cash balances during each shift.
• Reconcile physical cash and other payment methods against POS and system reports.
• Identify and report cash shortages, excess amounts, payment discrepancies, or suspicious transactions.
• Prepare cashier reconciliation and cash-up reports.
• Ensure all sales are properly recorded and accounted for.
• Issue receipts, payment slips, vouchers, and other required documents.
• Verify that prices, quantities, discounts, taxes, and service charges are correctly applied.
• Process authorised voids, cancellations, refunds, and corrections according to company procedures.
• Cross-check customer bills against orders before accepting payment.
• Monitor transactions for unusual activity, duplicate entries, unauthorised discounts, or suspicious cancellations.
• Report suspected revenue leakage or irregular transactions to the relevant supervisor.
• Work closely with waiters, bartenders, supervisors, kitchen staff, and management to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain confidentiality of company financial information, customer transactions, and cash balances.
• Report POS, network, printer, or other technical problems to the appropriate supervisor or IT support team.
• Complete shift closing procedures and submit cash and supporting documents according to company requirements.

Qualifications Required

• Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Cashier, preferably in a high-end restaurant, hotel, bar, lounge, or similar hospitality environment.
• Experience operating restaurant POS and accounting systems.
• Good knowledge of cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
• Basic computer and numerical skills.
• Good understanding of customer service standards.
• Trustworthy, confident, well-presented, efficient, and highly attentive to detail.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
