About the Role

The Process Plant Operator III is responsible for operating and monitoring designated processing circuits while ensuring optimal gold recovery and efficient plant performance. The role involves equipment operation, process monitoring, sampling, reagent handling, shift handovers, shutdown participation, and maintaining accurate operational records in accordance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned plant circuits within approved metallurgical parameters.
• Monitor and control gold recovery processes to maximize recovery efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of gold production, reagent consumption, and process data.
• Monitor plant equipment and troubleshoot operational abnormalities.
• Report equipment failures for timely maintenance and repair.
• Collect hourly and shift samples for laboratory analysis.
• Handle and mix process reagents safely and correctly.
• Operate plant mobile equipment, including forklifts, mobile cranes, cherry pickers, backhoe loaders, graders, and dozers.
• Perform hourly readings of critical plant values and analyze operating conditions.
• Conduct effective shift handovers with complete operational information.
• Participate in planned and unplanned plant shutdowns and maintenance activities.
• Support mill relining operations and process improvement initiatives.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and gold room security procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping throughout the processing plant.
• Participate in training, performance development, and continuous learning activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Awareness of the Mines Health and Safety Act.
• At least 3 years of experience in mineral processing operations.
• Minimum 2 years of process plant operating experience.
• Experience in chemical and reagent handling and mixing.
• Experience operating mobile mining equipment.
• Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) operational experience.
• Polywelding experience.
• Knowledge of crushing, grinding, and comminution circuits.
• Experience with gravity concentration and gold recovery processes.
• Understanding of cyclone classification and mineral processing systems.
• Experience in mill relining activities and stockpile operations.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
