Accountant

BMG Investment is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Accountant based in Morogoro Region. This is an opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong understanding of financial management, statutory compliance, and accounting records to join the organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling transactions, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring statutory returns are submitted on time. Experience in construction, logistics, or project-based industries will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable regulations.

• Record and reconcile financial transactions, including revenues, expenses, and project costs.

  

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Prepare management reports to support financial decision-making.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Conduct supplier and client account reconciliations.

• Prepare and submit statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, WHT, SDL, and other applicable returns.

• Ensure financial transactions are properly documented and recorded.

• Support effective financial management and control.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience.

• Experience in logistics, construction, or project-based industries is preferred.

• CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.

• Good understanding of tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.

• Strong financial management skills.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Experience working in a construction or logistics company is an added advantage.
