Director of Revenue

Johari Rotana is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented professional to join its team as a Director of Revenue in Dar es Salaam. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with strong knowledge of revenue management, hotel commercial operations, reservations, and business performance.

The Director of Revenue will be responsible for maximizing the hotel's revenue and profitability through effective revenue management strategies, room optimization, market analysis, and proactive sales planning. The successful candidate will work closely with Reservations, Sales, Marketing, and other commercial teams to identify opportunities, improve performance, and achieve the hotel's financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement proactive selling strategies and action plans to maximize hotel profitability.

• Drive revenue optimization through effective room reservation strategies.

  

• Identify opportunities to increase hotel revenue and implement action plans to capture market opportunities.

• Develop recovery strategies to address potential business risks and revenue challenges.

• Ensure revenue strategies align with Rotana standards and overall business objectives.

• Oversee revenue generation activities in collaboration with:

  • Reservations Sales Department

  • MICE Sales Department

  • Sales & Marketing teams

• Monitor hotel business performance and recommend appropriate improvements.

• Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in preparing monthly revenue reports.

• Provide revenue insights to support commercial and management decision-making.

• Prepare required revenue data for annual budgeting processes.

• Assist the management team in developing yearly financial plans.

• Analyze revenue trends, market conditions, and business performance.

• Ensure accurate revenue reporting and alignment with the hotel's financial goals.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar Revenue Management role within a hotel environment.

• Previous experience in a Reservations Department.

• Previous experience in a Revenue Department.

• Previous experience in hotel commercial operations.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Computer literacy.

• Previous experience using Opera Property Management System (PMS) is required.

• Strong understanding of hotel business operations.

• Strong business planning skills.
