AngloGold Ashanti Tanzania is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist – HV Electrician UG to provide expert technical support in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of high-voltage electrical infrastructure within underground mining operations at Geita Gold Mine. • Improve equipment availability by supporting planned maintenance schedules and responding effectively to breakdowns.

• Develop skills matrices for electrical infrastructure work activities.

• Identify training requirements and development needs for HV electrical technicians.

• Provide on-the-job training and monitor electrical maintenance skill levels.

• Maintain training records for electrical maintainers.

• Participate in mining and maintenance planning meetings.

• Participate in HSE, risk management, change management, cost, and schedule reviews.

• Work with planning teams to increase planned maintenance activities and reduce unplanned work.

• Identify electrical backlog work for future maintenance schedules.

• Identify and communicate HV reticulation risks to relevant stakeholders.

• Inspect HV works to ensure compliance with engineering designs and authority requirements.

• Monitor ongoing work quality and installation practices.

• Prepare repair reports with photographs of major failures.

• Ensure work orders are properly created, completed, and closed in the maintenance system.

• Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Trade Test Level Three/Grade One in Electrical Installation or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Electrical Engineering and above.

• High Voltage Training Certificate.

• Valid driving licence.

• Electrical Engineering qualification is an added advantage.

• Experience managing high-voltage electrical infrastructure in underground mining operations.

• Experience developing and implementing underground equipment maintenance strategies.

• Experience maintaining 11kV transformers, switchgear, and Ring Main Units (RMU).

• Experience in medium-voltage cable splicing and terminations.

• Experience working with high and low-voltage circuit breakers.

• Knowledge of earth leakage protection systems.

• Experience working with 1000V equipment and gulley boxes.

• Experience with jumbo drill units.

• Strong understanding of electrical safety, maintenance practices, and underground mining operations.
