Full Job Description
Kigoma Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KUWASA) is inviting applications from qualified, motivated, and performance-driven Tanzanians for the position of Supplies Officer Volunteer. KUWASA is responsible for the management and provision of clean water supply and sanitation services within Kigoma Municipality.
The position is intended to support storekeeping, inventory management, and supplies control activities within the Authority. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring proper storage, monitoring, inspection, and accountability of materials and supplies used in the Authority’s operations while maintaining compliance with procurement and inventory management procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out periodic inspections and stocktaking of materials and supplies.
- Ensuring efficient, safe, and economical storage of materials and supplies in stores and stockyards.
- Supporting annual stocktaking exercises for materials, movable non-current assets, and immovable non-current assets.
- Preparing responses to audit queries related to materials, supplies, and storekeeping activities.
- Checking and issuing materials received from external suppliers and arranging inspections to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
- Assisting in maintaining stores in an orderly, clean, and organized manner.
- Monitoring stock movement and supporting proper inventory control procedures.
- Performing any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Material Management, Business Administration majoring in Procurement and Supply, or related fields from recognized institutions.
- Alternatively, possession of Professional Level III qualification from PSPTB or another qualification recognized by PSPTB.
- Must be registered by PSPTB as a Graduate Procurement and Supplies Professional.
- Good understanding of inventory management, storekeeping, procurement procedures, and supplies management.
- Computer literacy and ability to maintain inventory records and stock documentation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
General Conditions:
- The volunteer appointment shall be for a period of one year.
- Applicants must clearly indicate the position applied for in the heading of the application letter and on the envelope.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure certification by TCU and NECTA.
- Submission of forged documents or false information will result in legal action.
- Hand delivery of applications is not permitted.
- No payment is required during the recruitment process.
