Kigoma Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KUWASA) is inviting applications from qualified, motivated, and performance-driven Tanzanians to fill the position of Procurement Officer Volunteer. KUWASA is responsible for the management and provision of clean water supply and sanitation services within Kigoma Municipality.
The position is intended to support procurement and supply chain management activities within the Authority, ensuring compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and internal operational procedures. The successful candidate will assist in procurement planning, supplier management, and preparation of procurement documentation for goods, works, and consultancy services.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing documentation for procurement plans covering goods, works, consultancy, and non-consultancy services.
- Participating in formulation and improvement of internal management systems, procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Evaluating vendor performance and providing recommendations accordingly.
- Maintaining databases for vendors, suppliers, and pricing information to ensure timely and accurate access to procurement data.
- Preparing procurement documents for acquisition of goods, works, consultancy, and non-consultancy services.
- Supporting compliance with procurement standards and operational procedures.
- Performing any other procurement-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Material Management, Business Administration majoring in Procurement and Supply, or other related fields from recognized institutions.
- Alternatively, possession of Professional Level III qualification from PSPTB or any related qualification recognized by PSPTB.
- Must be registered by PSPTB as a Graduate Procurement and Supplies Professional.
- Good understanding of procurement procedures, supply chain operations, and vendor management.
- Computer literacy and ability to work with procurement documentation systems.
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
General Conditions:
- The volunteer appointment shall be for a period of one year.
- Applicants must clearly indicate the position applied for in the heading of the application letter and on the envelope.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure certification by TCU and NECTA.
- Submission of forged documents or false information will result in legal action.
- Hand delivery of applications is not allowed.
- No payment is required at any stage of the recruitment process.
