Specialist: Digital Channels Systems at CRDB Bank is a permanent ICT role based at the Tanzania Head Office within the Department of ICT. The position focuses on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the bank’s digital and self-service banking platforms. These include Internet Banking, USSD services, mobile banking applications, agent banking systems, payment platforms, and other digital financial services infrastructure.
The role primarily ensures that all digital channels operate reliably, securely, and efficiently by providing second-level technical support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and coordination with third-level support teams and vendors. It also involves system integration testing, upgrades, configuration management, and ensuring compliance with IT service management and change control processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support and monitoring for digital channel systems
- Delivering second-level support and coordinating escalation to third-level teams
- Offering 24-hour on-call support for critical system issues
- Documenting technical specifications for system changes and projects
- Reviewing, testing, and implementing system updates, enhancements, and patches
- Conducting system integration testing for upgrades and deployments
- Providing end-user support and resolving hardware and software issues
- Configuring digital systems, services, storage, and system directories
- Performing daily system monitoring, including logs, backups, and system availability checks
- Ensuring successful backup operations and data recovery processes
- Managing file archival, system cleanup, and performance optimization
- Repairing and recovering systems after hardware or software failures
- Coordinating with users, vendors, and stakeholders during system incidents
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related IT field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ICT-related roles
- At least 2 years’ experience supporting self-service digital banking channels or similar systems
- Professional certification in IT service management (ITIL or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of digital banking systems and platforms
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Ability to perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and support functions
- Strong coordination skills in working with vendors and technical teams
- Ability to work in high-availability environments including on-call rotations
- Strong technical documentation and analytical skills
- Leadership and team coordination capability is an advantage
