The Senior ICT Officer is responsible for managing database administration, ICT security, systems and network administration, and end-user support. The role ensures high system availability, safeguards organizational information assets, strengthens cybersecurity, and supports the continuous improvement of the Bank’s ICT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
• Manage database security, user accounts, permissions, and access rights
• Develop and maintain database scripts, reports, and technical documentation
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high database availability and performance
• Monitor data integrity and implement appropriate data protection controls
• Support application integration with organizational databases
• Perform database performance tuning and capacity planning activities
• Implement and enforce ICT security policies, procedures, and standards
• Monitor databases, servers, networks, and ICT systems for security threats and vulnerabilities
• Conduct ICT security assessments and recommend corrective actions
• Manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, endpoint security, and user access controls
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security breaches
• Maintain security logs, audit trails, and monitoring systems
• Support compliance with ICT security policies, data protection regulations, and audit recommendations
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices throughout the organization
• Support and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and ICT systems
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments
• Install, configure, update, and maintain software applications and system patches
• Maintain secure remote access solutions and user authentication systems
• Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery initiatives
• Monitor ICT infrastructure performance and recommend system improvements
• Coordinate ICT support services with vendors and external service providers
• Provide technical support for ICT systems, databases, and information security issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve ICT incidents within agreed service levels
• Train users on ICT security awareness and safe technology practices
• Develop user manuals, technical documentation, and operational procedures
• Prepare periodic ICT operational and security reports for management

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in ICT systems administration, database management, and information security
• At least three years of practical experience administering Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following database platforms: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Experience managing ICT infrastructure, network security, and systems administration
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve database and ICT technical issues in production environments
• Professional certifications in cybersecurity, database administration, networking, or systems administration will be an added advantage
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication, documentation, and user support skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional ICT environment
