The Pastry Chef position within the Kitchen department offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about baking and dessert preparation. Responsibilities
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing a wide range of pastries and desserts while maintaining the highest quality standards. The role also involves developing new recipes, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations to meet guest expectations.

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked goods for hotel guests
  • Develop new pastry recipes and seasonal menu items to enhance the hotel’s culinary offerings
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure consistency in all pastry products
  • Manage pastry inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients according to food safety standards
  • Decorate and present pastry products attractively to meet hotel presentation standards
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation within the pastry section at all times
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
  • Adhere to all hotel health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Qualification
Candidates applying for this role should possess relevant academic qualifications and practical experience in pastry production or culinary arts. The ideal candidate should demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  • Relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or professional qualification related to Culinary Arts, Pastry and Bakery, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a reputable hotel, lodge, restaurant, or hospitality establishment
  • Proven experience in pastry preparation, baking, and dessert production
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and food safety procedures
  • Fluency in English language communication
  • Knowledge of additional languages will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy for applicable duties
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
