Compassion International is recruiting a Partnership Facilitator III based in Dar es Salaam. The role serves as the organization’s primary liaison with local churches, focusing on strengthening church capacity, ownership, and resources to effectively deliver child and youth development programs. The position involves close collaboration with church leaders, denominational structures, and community stakeholders to enhance program impact and sustainability.
The role is highly relational and programmatic, requiring the incumbent to coordinate partnership development processes, facilitate planning and learning cycles, and ensure effective implementation of child-focused interventions. The successful candidate will also support safeguarding standards, resource mobilization, and continuous improvement of church-led development initiatives across assigned clusters of churches.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary liaison between Compassion International and local church partners.
- Strengthening church ownership, capacity, and resource mobilization for child and youth ministry programs.
- Facilitating partnership development processes with church leaders to assess needs, plan interventions, and monitor outcomes.
- Supporting churches in developing and implementing multi-year strategic plans and annual operational plans.
- Mobilizing participation of parents, caregivers, youth, and community stakeholders in child development initiatives.
- Supporting churches in identifying and engaging key community influencers such as schools, peers, and local leaders.
- Facilitating church involvement in community transformation and child protection initiatives.
- Coordinating Church Facing Team (CFT) activities and ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders.
- Collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing data on child and youth needs to inform planning and decision-making.
- Supporting program cycle management, including needs assessment, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Building church capacity in learning, reflection, and continuous improvement of programs.
- Overseeing multiple church partnerships within assigned clusters and ensuring tailored support based on each church’s maturity and context.
- Promoting collaboration among churches for shared learning, resource mobilization, and joint initiatives.
- Ensuring timely renewal of partnership agreements between Compassion and church partners.
- Supporting and strengthening child protection systems, policies, and reporting mechanisms within church programs.
- Reporting and responding to child protection concerns in coordination with internal safeguarding structures.
- Documenting partnership activities and ensuring accountability for program deliverables and organizational commitments.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Development, or related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in partnership management, community development, or related work.
- Experience working with children and faith-based or Christian organizations is an added advantage.
- Strong facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in program cycle management including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of child protection standards and safeguarding practices.
- Ability to manage complex partnerships and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Skills in resource mobilization, capacity building, and community engagement.
- Valid driving license is an added advantage.
