UNDP Tanzania is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Partnership Analyst to support country-level partnership development, volunteer mobilization, and operational coordination in Dar es Salaam. This role plays a key part in strengthening the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) presence and enhancing collaboration across development, humanitarian, and peacebuilding initiatives in Tanzania.

The successful candidate will work closely with government institutions, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and development partners to identify opportunities for volunteer engagement and strengthen strategic partnerships. The role also involves analytical reporting, stakeholder engagement, and supporting volunteer lifecycle management within a dynamic international development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain partnerships with UN agencies, government institutions, civil society organizations, and development partners.
  • Participate in UN planning processes, including Common Country Assessments (CCA), UNSDCF, and Humanitarian Response Planning.
  • Analyze national development priorities and identify opportunities for volunteer engagement.
  • Develop and implement volunteer mobilization strategies aligned with UNV objectives.
  • Promote volunteerism through outreach campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepare presentations, analytical reports, and briefing materials showcasing UNV’s value proposition.
  • Support talent attraction and volunteer pipeline management activities.
  • Maintain country-level intelligence on UN partner priorities and programme pipelines.
  • Monitor volunteer mobilization trends and key performance indicators.
  • Utilize CRM systems, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and volunteer management platforms.
  • Contribute to innovative volunteer solutions and pilot initiatives.
  • Coordinate volunteer safety, security compliance, and host entity coordination.
  • Facilitate medical evacuation support when required.
  • Maintain regular communication with serving volunteers and support their welfare.
  • Conduct field visits and address volunteer performance and welfare concerns.
  • Develop and implement annual Field Unit work plans.
  • Manage operational budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Supervise assigned personnel and support staff development and performance.
  • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or development cooperation.
  • Background in international relations, development studies, or related field.
  • Experience in programme analysis, research, and reporting.
  • Proven ability in inter-agency collaboration and coordination.
  • Strong skills in preparing briefing notes, concept papers, and analytical reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of results-based management and partnership management frameworks.
  • Experience working in the UN system (UNDP, UNV, or other agencies) is an added advantage.
  • Experience in volunteer management or promotion of volunteerism is desirable.
  • Familiarity with civil society engagement and resource mobilization is an advantage.
  • Strong digital awareness and ability to use data systems and dashboards.
  • Ability to think innovatively, adapt quickly, and work in diverse environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage multiple stakeholders effectively.
